Is Laser Hair Removal Worth It?
It’s been several years since I practically got my entire body hair lasered off. My last session was back in 2021!
It’s now 2025. Has the hair grown back?
YUP. Well sort of…
Here’s everything I have gotten done, and what the current status is:
Front Hairline (x2): hasn’t grown back
Upper Lip (x5): has grown back
Sideburns (x5): has not grown back
Underarms (x4): has grown back
Half arms (x4): has not grown back
Stomach (x2): grown back, but less
Brazilian (x3): grown back
Lower Legs (x2): grown back, but less
So was it worth it?
A resounding yes! It’s important to remember that laser hair removal is not a permanent solution. It significantly reduces hair growth, but it’s not technically permanent. It can provide long-lasting results, but it’s better to think of it as a semi-permanent solution that may require touch-ups.
For me, it was absolutely worth it. I went years without picking up a razor, and feeling more comfortable in my skin. I’m very overdue for touch-ups and will be scheduling those before summer hits. Speaking of summer, now is the time to schedule in your laser hair removal sessions!
Why?
Getting laser hair removal before summer is a smart move for a few reasons:
By the time summer arrives, you’ll have already completed multiple sessions, meaning less shaving, waxing, or dealing with stubble when you hit the beach.
Lasers target the pigment in hair follicles, so they work best when your skin is at its natural tone (i.e., not tanned). Getting treatments in the cooler months ensures safer, more effective results.
Post-laser, your skin is more sensitive to UV exposure, increasing the risk of hyperpigmentation or irritation. Doing it before summer means you can heal properly without worrying about sunburn.
Laser hair removal requires multiple sessions (4-8, spaced 4-6 weeks apart) to fully treat all hair cycles. Starting in the winter or early spring means you’ll see optimal results by summer.
No more last-minute shaving or painful ingrowns from waxing—just smooth, carefree skin all summer long!
